For three or four years, I vision-boarded Bali. I researched, dreamed, and planned so deeply I felt like an expert — yet fear kept me rooted. I didn't even have a passport.
Then life moved. I met someone who shared the dream. We planned to meet in Bali for the first time. He came. He left. I stayed — because I could finally breathe.
Watching locals live genuinely happy, fulfilling lives on a few hundred dollars a month taught me that endless acquisition was never the path to freedom. This guide is everything I wish I had.
